Webinar on World Soil Day

On December 5th another HoliSoils webinar will take place. The topic is "Long-term nitrogen fertilization enhances tree growth and soil carbon retention in boreal forests" and might be of interest to some.

The HoliSoils Webinar Series continues this December with a new session exploring the effects of long-term nutrient management on forest productivity and soil health.

Sustained nitrogen fertilisation has been practiced in Finnish forests for more than six decades, offering unique insights into how nutrient inputs shape tree growth, soil processes and carbon dynamics. This webinar will present findings from long-term field experiments that reveal how moderate, repeated nitrogen additions influence forest productivity and soil carbon retention.

The presentation will be given by Anni Palvi and Boris Tupek from Luke (Natural Resources Institute) in Finland.
