Joint comment on current proposal from EU Commission for new forest monitoring framework

Several researchers associated with ICP Forests were examining the extent to which the current draft of the EU forest monitoring proposal is in line with its intended objectives to support forest resilience under climate change in European forests.

They stated that the EC proposal lacks the integration of some crucial and already existing resources and infrastructures and they then provide suggestions to help reconciling the proposal with its objectives and a more comprehensive monitoring vision.
